Kate Gosselin Feels 'Sorry' for Her Kids
"Dancing with the Stars" contestant Kate Gosselin has been taking some heat for juggling the dance competition show with being a mom.
"I'm just sorry for them [her kids] that they have to deal with it in a public setting," Gosselin told "Extra." "A lot of those days I have to be away from them anyway, because Jon has a couple days here and there."
"Single moms really have to work," she insists. "Single moms of eight kids really have to work."
But she's excited about next week's "DWTS" movie theme. "I'm dancing to a song from an '80s movie ... which I know. A definite plus!"
Gosselin is out and about promoting her new bestseller, "I Just Want You to Know," and is getting ready for her new TLC reality series, "Twist of Kate."
"It was born from letters that fans sent us from 'Jon and Kate Plus 8,'" she explains. "Inadvertently, they end up telling me their story and I want to respond to those stories because they inspire me."
