Jason & Molly: 'Fighting Like Hell to Make It Work'
"The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison is dishing about the life of Jason Mesnick after "The Bachelor" -- how Jason is making it work with Molly, plus an update from Melissa, and who was chosen as the next "Bachelorette"!
After Jason dumped fiancée Melissa for Molly, the single father received a major backlash from fans of the ABC show. Harrison defended Mesnick's decision, writing on EW.com, "I hate that he hurt Melissa like he did, but I also see the other side... Jason and Molly are in love and are fighting like hell under an extreme amount of pressure to make this work."
This morning Mesnick posted a note on his Facebook profile thanking his fans. "I just wanted to once again thank everyone for their support... Molly & I are reading your positive responses, which is refreshing."
Melissa, the 25-year-old sales rep from Dallas who won the final rose, but not Jason's heart, is reportedly "doing fine" after her on-air breakup with Jason, in which she gave back his engagement ring, called him a bastard and stormed off the set. Harrison insisted that Melissa "wasn't blindsided. She knew things weren't going well... she was hurt and pissed that night we shot the special, but she feels... that she's better off."
The third runner-up and favorite among fans, Jillian Harris, 29, has been tapped as the new "Bachelorette." The Canadian-born beauty was sent packing before the final rose ceremony, but will have another shot at finding her dream man when "The Bachelorette" premieres in May.
