Brave Tammy Faye Fights for Life: 'It's In God's Hands'
Tammy Faye Messner is fighting for her life, battling inoperable lung cancer as she whittles away to a skeletal 65 pounds.
Yet despite her frail condition, Tammy Faye made an emotional appearance on “Larry King Live” last night – and “Extra” has the heartbreaking interview.
“I talk to God every single day, and I say, 'God, my life is in your hands,'” Tammy Faye said.
Tammy Faye said she has no idea how much time she has left. She asked her doctors not to let her know.
Tammy Faye is in pain “all the time,” she says, and she's still fighting. The cancer hasn't broken her spirit – or her signature sense of humor.
“I've gained five pounds! Yeah!” a gleeful Tammy Faye exclaimed.
She told Larry she's still got high hopes – she can't wait for fast food.
“I'm looking forward to the day when I can bite into that hamburger and fries,” she said.
Tammy Faye's cancer has shockingly transformed her from the robust, mascara-loving pop-culture icon into a frail woman without much time.
And she's doing it all with enormous grace.
“I believe when I leave this earth,” she said, “I'm going straight to heaven.”
