‘Counting On’ Star John David Duggar Reveals His Courtship Rules Were Different Than His Siblings'

In an exclusive clip from the new season of “Counting On,” Duggar says, “We chose to be able to have some contact versus no contact. I will put my arm around her, give her a hug. We felt like it is appropriate with where we are in this stage of life. We are about 10 years older than most of siblings when they start a courtship so it feels like we are a little further down the road when it comes to maturity in some areas.”
Abbie added, “At the beginning of our relationship, John and I sat down and kind of made a list of guidelines for ourselves to keep in relation to how much we touch and things like that with our main goal we wanted to honor God and have no regrets.”
John David explained that they chose not to kiss, and had “very strict standards on what is okay and what is not okay."
The new season of TLC's “Counting On” kicks off at 9 p.m. on February 11. Fans will get to see John David propose to Abbie and all the preparation that went into their 1,000-guest wedding.
The season will also follow the Seewalds, Vuolos, and more of the Duggar family.
