“Extra’s” Mario Lopez caught up with Jeff Bridges at the 2019 Golden Globes ahead of the epic speech he gave upon receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award.
When Lopez asked how he prepared for his speech, he explained, “I give it some thought, but I’m going to do a jam. I don’t know what I’m going to say, exactly. I’m going to let it rip.”
Once he did “let it rip,” Bridges called on the audience to “make a difference.”
He said, in part, "I guess we all have been tagged, we are all alive right here, right now. We are alive, we can make a difference. We can turn this ship in the way we wanna go, man. Towards love, creating a healthy planet for all of us."
Bridges also told Mario that he was surprised to get the call that he would be honored with the award.
“I thought it was a joke, man… I don’t feel that old, man. It goes so fast.”
