Former politician Anthony Weiner is in the midst of another sexting scandal, and his wife Huma Abedin just announced their separation!
In a statement, she said, “After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband. Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy.”
While Huma was working on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, Weiner has reportedly been sexting an unknown woman, according to the New York Post. The woman told the Post that the sexting started in January 2015 and even went on throughout August. He allegedly sent a crotch shot of himself while sharing the bed with his toddler son and wrote, "Someone just climbed into my bed.”
Though he reportedly sent it as a direct message on Twitter, he was afraid he had accidentally posted it on his timeline, in a repeat of the 2011 mistake that led to his resignation from Congress. He wrote, "Ooooooh . . . I was scared. For half a second I thought I posted something. Stop looking at my crotch."
Hillary’s opponent Donald Trump pounced on Huma’s separation announcement. He said, "Huma is making a very wise decision. I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him. I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information. Who knows what he learned and who he told? It’s just another example of Hillary Clinton’s bad judgment. It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.”
Trump has been hit with criticism over his own choice of advisors in recent weeks.
As for the mystery woman, the Post describes her as a “self-avowed supporter of Donald Trump and the National Rifle Association who’s used Twitter to bash both President Obama and Clinton.”
