Retro Report Tells Real Story Behind the Famous Line, 'A Dingo's Got My Baby'
Retro Report, a series that uncovers the truth behind the headlines of famous older stories, is focusing their attention on the real events that inspired actress Meryl Streep to cry, "A dingo's got my baby," in the 1988 film, "A Cry in the Dark."
In 1982, an Australian mother, Lindy Chamberlain, was convicted of murdering her 9-week-old baby daughter Azaria, who Lindy maintained was snatched by a dingo from her tent at a campsite in the outback.
Lindy was later exonerated, but soon fell victim to a joke that distracted the world from the real story, which Retro Report is now covering in this enlightening video. Watch!
