‘Extra’ Helps Throw a Baby Shower for Military Moms
“Extra” joined Operation Shower, Birdies for the Brave, and our own lifestyle correspondent Hilaria Baldwin to host a baby shower for 40 military moms-to-be at the Traveler’s Championship in Connecticut.
The mass shower, called "The Red, White and Coo," was put together to shine the spotlight on military moms. Operation Shower’s LeAnn Morrisey told Baldwin, “We’re trying to bring a joyous day to these moms,” adding that all of the women’s husbands are currently deployed in some way.
Delilah Waskiewicks, pregnant with her fourth child, thanked the organizers for the support. “I’m so excited because I’ve never had a baby shower before, ever.”
Meghan King, expecting her first daughter, added, “It’s been hard doing everything myself, but totally worth it.”
Another mom who just gave birth four weeks ago was emotional, telling Hilaria what the shower meant to her. “It’s just a blessing to know people think about you and realize the sacrifice you make, even though I didn’t realize it until today.”
Baldwin, who is expecting her own baby girl this fall with husband Alec Baldwin, was honored to be able to say thank you to all the moms, and helped shower them with gifts from Carousel Designs, 4 Moms, and others.
