"Kill Bill" star Michael Madsen was arrested in Malibu Friday on suspicion of felony child endangerment.
Law enforcement officials said Madsen was arrested after they responded to a call about a family dispute at Madsen's Malibu home.
In a statement from the L.A. Sheriff's Dept. Special Victims Bureau, Madsen "appeared under the influence of alcohol and got into a physical altercation with his teenage son. Medical attention was not required at the scene for Madsen's son."
Madsen's attorney, Perry Wander, told TMZ, "[Michael] found his son smoking pot and they got in an argument when he tried to take it away. It's a family matter and Michael asks that his families privacy be respected."
The actor was released early Saturday morning and was in decent spirits on his way out, calling the whole incident a "big misunderstanding."
