Lifechangers: Are You Showing Signs of Heart Disease?
Working with Barbra Streisand to educate millions of women about heart disease, top cardiologist Dr. Noel Bairey Merz talks to "Extra" about the warning signs are and what you can do to prevent this deadly disease. "The classic male heart attack is a Hollywood heart attack, clutching your chest and falling over. Women often up to a half of the time will develop severe fatigue, shortness of breath, or even upset stomach," the doctor explains.
Dr. Bairey Merz goes on to say, "Once you have heart disease, you can reduce your chances of actually dying from heart disease by over 90 percent by taking 4 pills that are in some ways magic because all of them save lives." These pills are baby aspirin, which are beta-blockers and can also lower cholesterol.
