Luke Perry’s Daughter Confirms His Unusual Burial Request Was Granted
Luke Perry's daughter Sophie, 18, opened up in a new Instagram post about one of her dad's final wishes.
Perry has passed away March 4 at age 52 after suffering a massive stroke.
Sophie confirmed her father wanted to be laid to rest in an eco-friendly burial suit, and that the request was granted. His final resting place is reportedly his farm in Tennessee.
She wrote, “Any explanation i give will not do justice to the genius that is the mushroom burial suit, but it is essentially an eco friendly burial option via mushrooms. All i can say is that you should all look into them at coeio.com or just by googling 'mushroom burial suit.'”
She added, “My dad discovered it, and was more excited by this than I have ever seen him. He was buried in this suit, one of his final wishes. They are truly a beautiful thing for this beautiful planet, and I want to share it with all of you.”
The suit is biodegradable and made of mushrooms and other microorganisms that help the body transform into vital nutrients that enrich the earth.

The day after her dad passed away, Sophie wrote on Instagram, “A lot has happened in this past week for me. Everything is happening so fast. I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family, And in the past 24 hours I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support. I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I.”
While she was appreciative of the love and support, she admitted that she's still trying to figure out how to cope publicly with her dad's death. She wrote, “I'm not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it's something you aren't ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it's all happening in the public eye. So bare [sic] with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”
Her brother Jack also posted an Instagram tribute in March, writing, "He was a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, he was always Dad. He loved and supported me in everything, and inspired me to be the best that I could possibly be.”
The 21-year-old added a message to his late father, “I've learned so much from you, and my heart is broken thinking about everything you won't be here for. I'll miss you every day that I walk this earth. I'll do whatever I can to carry on your legacy and make you proud. I love you Dad.”
