Steven Bochco, 'Hill Street Blues' Creator, Dead at 74
Steven Bochco, one of TV's most accomplished producers, has died at 74. TMZ reports Bochco died Sunday after a long battle with leukemia, with one family source telling the site he "finally just gave up."
Bochco, who won 10 Emmys and four Peabody Awards for his work, was famous for his creations "Hill Street Blues" (1981-1987), "L.A. Law" (1986-1994), "Doogie Howser, M.D." (1989-1993), and "NYPD Blue" (1993-2005), among others. He was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1996.
Bochco was married three times, including to "Hill Street Blues" regular Barbara Bosson from 1970-1997. He is survived by his wife Dayna Kalins, his two children with Bosson, and his elder sister, actress Joanna Frank.
