Did Kanye West Just Drop Out of the Presidential Race?

Earlier this month, rapper Kanye West announced he was running for president.

In an interview with Forbes, West said he would run the White House by using "the framework of Wakanda right now because it's the best explanation of what our design group is going to feel like in the White House… like in the movie ['Black Panther'], in Wakanda, when the King went to visit that lead scientist to have the shoes wrap around her shoes. Just the amount of innovation that can happen, the amount of innovation in medicine — like Big Pharma — we are going to work, innovate, together.”

As for his slogan, the Grammy winner explained, “My campaign is, 'Kanye West YES,' not 'YEP,' not 'YEAH.' 'YES. YES. YES'... When I'm President, let's also have some fun. Let's get past all the racism conversation, let's empower people with 40 acres and a mule, let's give some land, that's the plan.”

West also named Wyoming preacher Michelle Tidball as his running mate.

Just 10 days after his big announcement, it looks like West is out of the race. On Tuesday, Steve Kramer, who was hired by West to get his name on the ballot in as many states as possible, told New York Magazine, “He's out.”

What happened? Kramer told the outlet, “I'll let you know what I know once I get all our stuff canceled."

Kramer went on, “I have nothing good or bad to say about Kanye. Everyone has their personal decision about why they make decisions. Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for someone to actually contemplate at that level.”

West hasn't publicly commented on the reports.

Last year, “Extra's” Renee Bargh asked West's wife Kim Kardashian if she was ready to be the first lady after Kanye revealed plans to run in 2024.

Kim told Renee at the time, “I would be ready for anything. I always am… we will see.”
