Is Kim Kardashian Up for Being First Lady? Here’s What She Told ‘Extra’
Kanye West announced he is running for president in 2020, but is his wife Kim Kardashian up for being our next first lady?
“Extra's” Renee Bargh asked Kim that question last year, after Kanye revealed plans to run in 2024.
Kim told Renee at the time, “I would be ready for anything. I always am… we will see.”
West first announced his plans to run in 2024 at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in November. When his words were met with some surprise laughter from the crowd, Kanye didn't seem pleased, asking, “What y'all laughing at?”
Now, it looks like he's hoping to get into politics even sooner. The rapper tweeted on July 4, 2020, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION.”

Kim showed her support by retweeting her husband, and including an American flag.
It is unclear if West will even be able to run, as he has not filed his campaign with the Federal Election Commission. Newsweek also reports that the star has missed ballot deadlines in several states, including Texas, New York, and Illinois. He is close to missing deadlines in others.
Kanye's campaign comes as a surprise after his outspoken support for President Trump. He famously met with Trump in 2018, and has been known to wear a “Make America Great Again” hat. Kim has not explicitly endorsed Trump in 2020, but worked with him on high-profile prison-reform cases.
