Ryan Reynolds Dishes on the Toughest Part About Being a New Dad
Being a dad isn't easy... just ask Ryan Reynolds.
“The Voices” actor, who welcomed a daughter with wife Blake Lively in December, told “Extra” special correspondent Angie Martinez that returning to work was hard. “You are operating on a week's worth of sleep amortized over six months. You don't get a lot of sleep.”
The 38-year-old added, “But it's amazing. It's weird to wake up in the middle of the night 45 times and always be in a good mood. I'm not used to that so that's fun.”
In “The Voices,” Reynolds plays a mentally ill, socially awkward, factory worker who takes orders from his pets. “You have a guy who's the nicest guy you've ever met but he's also a serial killer.”
Ryan is also lending his voice to the animals in the film, “I begged them to let me do it because they're voices in Jerry's head… some idiot producer thought that was a terrible idea, so he was trying to cast voice actors, and I said 'Let me just try,' so I recorded on my phone a scene between Jerry the dog and the cat, and I sent it to them and then I got hired on the spot.”
See “The Voices” in theaters and on demand on Friday.
