‘Scooby-Doo’ Star Heather North Dead at 71
Actress Heather North, known for voicing Daphne on “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” (1970) and in many subsequent Scooby-Doo projects, has passed away at the age of 71.
North was battling an unspecified illness when she died at her Studio City, California, home on November 30.
Her friend Jodie Mann confirmed her death to The Hollywood Reporter.
North's death comes about three years after her husband Wes Kenney died. They met on the set of “Days of Our Lives,” of which he was an executive producer, and tied the knot in 1971.
Aside from her work on various “Scooby-Doo” series and specials, North also appeared on “Mr. Novak" (1965), “Gidget” (1965), “The Fugitive" (1967), “The Monkees" (1967), “My Three Sons” (1963 and 1967) and “Adam-12” (1971). Her final non-Daphne role was on "Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels" (1977-1980).
A memorial is set for Wednesday in Studio City.
