New Details: Zombie Boy Rick Genest’s Death May Not Have Been Suicide

Zombie Boy Rick Genest's death was classified a suicide, but his family has their own theory about what happened.

Police sources told TMZ he jumped to his death from the fourth-floor balcony of his Montreal apartment around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Emergency responders tried to administer CPR at the scene, but were unsuccessful.

Karim Leduc, Genest's manager, says the family thinks it was an accident, pointing out that he would smoke on his balcony and lean back on the rail.

They also believe the 32-year-old would have left a note.

Genest was covered in tattoos, including an extensive face tat that made him look like a skeleton. He shot to fame after he appeared in Lady Gaga's “Born This Way” music video.

Gaga mourned his death on Twitter, writing, “The suicide of friend Rick Genest, Zombie Boy is beyond devastating. We have to work harder to change the culture, bring Mental Health to the forefront and erase the stigma that we can't talk about it. If you are suffering, call a friend or family today. We must save each other.”

His work with Lady Gaga led to modeling gigs on the runway and in magazines like GQ and Vanity Fair.

Genest made the Guinness World Records list, thanks to his 176 insect tats and 139 bone tats.

He also participated in a jaw-dropping video for Dermablend Professional Tattoo Cover Up, in which he appeared with no tattoos, then scrubbed away the product to reveal the ink underneath. Watch the video here.
