Katy Perry Reacts to Julia Louis-Dreyfus Using Her Song During Cancer Battle
Only “Extra” is with the “American Idol” judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as they make the rounds on the road for auditions!
Katy showed love for “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who recently announced she is battling breast cancer. Julia took to social media as she underwent treatment, quoting lyrics from Perry's hit “Roar.” Perry said, "I saw her post on Instagram and of course I double-tapped it… I'm glad she's using that song. I think she's a strong woman.”
Katy, a strong woman herself, recently celebrated her 33rd birthday. She shared, “They surprised me with a 7,000-layer cake and puppies. Which is the way to my heart.”
The pop star is also helping people celebrate their weddings, surprising guests at a St. Louis reception. “We had just seen Janet Jackson play and we wanted to go dance a little bit more... There was a raucous wedding. We were like... should we?“ Perry danced to Justin Timberlake's “SexyBack” with the newlyweds, who "did not mind.”

View StoryThe judges are enjoying the auditions in Georgia, a homecoming stop for Luke, who commented, “I was telling Lionel and Katy about my college years.” Lionel smiled, and added jokingly, “That he could remember...”
Katy added, “During the dinosaur times...”
One thing that's reportedly fresh is the talent on this season's "American Idol." Lionel gushed, “The talent is just fantastic. There's no nice way to say you don't have the goods. You have to be just as complimentary as possible, encouraging as possible. But at the same time, the answer is no.”
Katy dished, “Everybody wants to know who's the mean one. I just think we live in a day and age where you don't tell people 'you suck' anymore.”
