Adrian Grenier Will Be Honored with Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award
In June, actor Adrian Grenier will take home the 2016 Paul Walker Leadership Award from the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Grenier said in a statement, “It's an honor to receive the Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award. I share Paul's inquisitiveness for the mystery of the ocean and the great potential it holds for new discoveries that will enrich the lives and inspire the curiosities of the next several generations.”
He added, “I also share Paul's passion for ocean health and recognize that we have an opportunity to create real and lasting change that will benefit our marine environment and ultimately ourselves. We have a long way to go to create the impact we seek but by working together, and through unique storytelling with voices such as 52Hz, I'm optimistic about the future of Earth's marine species.”
Grenier and his Lonely Whale Foundation aim to educate and emphasize the importance of ocean health.
Paul's daughter Meadow and the Paul Walker Foundation established the award in 2014 to recognize those who use their public image to bring awareness to ocean causes and support philanthropic ventures.
She said, “Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others.”
