Tim Tebow Engaged to Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters

Football player Tim Tebow, 31, and Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, 23, are taking the next big step in their relationship!

On Wednesday, Tebow popped the question to Nel-Peters at his family's farm near Jacksonville, Florida.

During a stroll around the property, Tebow got down on one knee near a small lake, where he has installed an bench and arbor, which featured the date that they first met. He told People magazine, “I actually wasn't really nervous. I was excited. I wanted everything to be perfect and to go smoothly. But I wasn't nervous to actually ask her.”

While slipping on the diamond sparkler, Tim told Demi-Leigh, “This ring is internally flawless. Just like you.”

After the proposal, South African singer Matthew Mole serenaded the couple with one of their favorite songs, “The Wedding Song.”

The pair celebrated their engagement with her family and closest friends, who he flew out from South Africa. They were able to witness the proposal while hiding nearby.

Demi-Leigh gushed, “I'm so excited for the wedding, and I can't wait to spend forever with Tim.”

Tim said he “can't wait” to plan the wedding, adding, “I'm sure she's got some great ideas. It's going to be really exciting.”

Of his love, Tim shared, “She's just perfect for me. I'm really blessed to have her by my side for the rest of my life.”

Tim confirmed they were dating in July.

In 2017, Tim expressed his desire to find "the one," telling People magazine, “I'm looking, but I just can't seem to find anyone. I don't want to be single; I'm ready to settle down and start a family. I want to have kids. I have so many things I want. No one will be happier than me when I finally find the right person.”
