Selena Gomez Opens Up on ‘Life or Death’ Kidney Transplant
Singer Selena Gomez sat down for her first TV interview since her kidney transplant revelation!
In an interview with NBC News, Gomez revealed that she was facing death before her close friend Francia Raisa agreed to donate a kidney to her. She said, "I guess I got to the point where it was really kind of life or death.”
Gomez emphasized that Raisa saved her life, saying, “My kidneys were just done. That was it and I didn't want to ask a single person in my life. And she volunteered and did it."
Gomez was in need of a kidney transplant due to her battle with lupus. According to the National Kidney Foundation, systemic lupus erythematosus does harm to the skin, joints, kidneys and brain.
