Irma Ravages Florida
Haunting photos and video are inundating social media, capturing the wrath of Hurricane Irma, the deadly storm that rolled through the Caribbean and as of late Sunday was making its way up the west coast of Florida after socking the Florida Keys Sunday morning.
People magazine reports one Miami resident, Matthew Spuler, has been sharing posts with video showing water rising above the seawall, flooding the lower floors of high-rise buildings.

"There is no seawall whatsoever," Spuler says in one video, which has been widely shared. He also showed footage of an unmoored sailboat drifting in the choppy waters near his home.
One Miami reporter noted Irma had turned the city's streets into "rivers." Residents shared on social media images of two separate cranes collapsing.

Tampa, set to become the worst-hit mainland city, awoke to a chilling declaration from Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who told citizens they were "about to get punched in the face by this storm. We know we are ground zero for this storm. We have avoided it for 90 years but our time has come to be ready."
CNN reports Irma has been downgraded to a category 2 storm, still packing wind gusts of over 100 mph. Florida's Governor Rick Scott said Sunday, "We have never had anything like this before."
Irma left a million residents of Puerto Rico without power, has killed at least two dozen in the Caribbean and has stranded some in the U.S. Virgin Islands — People reports American tourists Kerman Haynes and Andrew Burruss, on a dream vacation when Irma obliterated Tortola, have been sharing desperate messages on Facebook.
"As of right now we have no place to stay tonight and people here are desperate," they shared Sunday afternoon. "If you have a moment, please reach out to anyone who can help. We are not the only Americans desperate for help and we want so bad to come home.”
TMZ reports a hurricane-relief telethon, set to air on all the major networks Tuesday night, will benefit victims of Hurricane Harvey as well as Irma. Stars set to appear include Justin Bieber, Drake, Robert De Niro, Jamie Foxx, Faith Hill and many others.
