Jessica Biel Dishes on Son Silas, Dates with Justin Timberlake, and Au Fudge
Last night, “Extra's” Terri Seymour caught up with Jessica Biel at the grand opening of her family-friendly restaurant, Au Fudge, in Hollywood, where she chatted about life with husband Justin Timberlake and their 10-month-old son Silas.
Over the weekend, Jessica and Justin enjoyed a date night at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. She shared, “It was really fun, Vanity Fair is such a glamorous thing to go to… it's just fun to dress up. A couple, by ourselves, it was really fun.”
The 33-year-old emphasized how important date nights are to keeping the romance alive. “You have to make it a priority, I think no matter what, whether you have kids or don't have kids, you just have to continue to date.”
At the party, which was sponsored by Amazon Family, Biel gushed over their son, who is “doing great... it's amazing to watch him learn. It's just been a cool wonderful experience.”
Jessica revealed that Silas is close to taking his first steps and sharing her favorite part about being a mom. “When you come around the corner and they've been hanging out with someone else, and he or she sees you and their face lights up. “
She continued, “If you're in a bad mood or if something's got you -- I mean, at least for me, you just forget about it, I'm like this little dude is happy I'm here right now.”
Jessica also discussed the idea behind “Au Fudge,” set to open Thursday. “I think it really was my friends who had kids they couldn't go anywhere that they loved. It was either the kids were happy or they were happy, and I couldn't really join them anywhere because they were at a ball pit or they were at a place that the food options were pizza or fries and that was sort of it, so that's where the idea came from. We all started talking about it and it was clear this was what was missing.”
The eatery is more than just another restaurant. She said, “It's a restaurant and a marketplace and a creative space… it's an elegant place and it's not just for kids.” The West Hollywood space will also offer on-site au pairs to mind the kids while adults eat.
Last week, Biel invited her former “Seventh Heaven” family to check out the joint before it opens to the public. “My friend Bev Mitchell, who I'm very close with, she always sends out emails and says, 'let's get everyone together' and we just did, and everyone could come, it was really nice.”
