'Mad About You' Star Louis Zorich Dead at 93
Louis Zorich, who starred on the 1990s comedy “Mad About You,” died Tuesday. He was 93.
A representative for the actor told The Wrap that Zorich passed away peacefully at his home in NYC.
Zorich played Paul Reiser's dad on “Mad About You,” and starred in the movies “Fiddler on the Roof” (1971), “The Muppets Take Manhattan” (1984) and “Moonstruck” (1987).
He was particularly known for his work on Broadway, including his debut in “Becket” (1960), as well as in “The Odd Couple” (1965) and a revival of “Follies” (2001). Zorich received a Tony nomination for his turn in “Hadrian VII” (1969).
Zorich was married to actress Olympia Dukakis, 86. The couple wed in 1962 and had three children, Christina, Peter and Stefan, all of whom survive him.
Reiser remembered his on-screen father on Twitter, writing, "Just heard the so sad news that our friend Louis Zorich has left us. Believe me when I say there has never been a more joyful and delicious human being to see every morning when you show up for work. Louis had the heartiest laugh and the biggest heart. I will miss him dearly."

He also shared his condolences, writing, "My deepest condolences to Olympia and family... The love between dear Louis Zorich and his beautiful Olympia was something else. So palpable & vibrant. It's what everyone else aspires to."
Paul's "Mad About You" co-star Helen Hunt also remembered Zorich on Twitter. She wrote, "A treasure!!!!!! Louis Zorich was a world class actor. I saw him do Chekhov and I saw him play the Pirate King in a senior citizen production in one of the funniest #madaboutyou episodes ever. I hope you're getting a big hug from my dad right now. You are beloved. 💔"
