Prince William & Kate Middleton Welcome Royal Baby #3!
It's official — royal baby #3 has arrived!
Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed the baby boy Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in London.
The palace confirmed on Twitter, "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at [11:01 a.m.]. The baby weighs 8 lbs. 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth... Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news," the statement continued.
William and Kate are already mom and dad to Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2.
The Duchess of Cambridge surprised royal baby watchers when she attended an Easter Service at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on April 1 – she wasn't expected to make another public appearance until after the baby was born. Kate officially went on maternity leave following a charity event on March 22.
The royal family has a lot to celebrate these days: Queen Elizabeth just turned 92, and William's brother Prince Harry will wed Meghan Markle on May 19.
