Exclusive! Joe Giudice Describes Teresa's Life in Prison, Her Beauty Regimen and More
In an exclusive “Extra” interview, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Joe Giudice opens up about life without Teresa, and how she is coping in prison.
Teresa is serving a 15-month sentence for bank and bankruptcy fraud at Danbury Federal Prison. Once she is released, Joe will begin his three-year, five-month sentence for his role in the fraud.
The back-to-back sentences were designed so that one parent would be home to care for their four daughters; Gia, 13, Milania 9, Gabriella, 8, and Audriana, 3.
Joe sat down with “Extra” at his home in Towaco, New Jersey. He told us he misses Teresa every day, and that the girls communicate with her via email. “They email her all the time… every day, so, they email more than me.”

Joe said he is staying strong, explaining, “When you have four kids you have to stay strong.” He added, “Her being away definitely makes me appreciate her way more, a lot more, and you know everything she did.”

Giudice also revealed how Teresa is doing in prison, “She's got a little group she hangs out with and does her thing with every day, and who she goes to the gym with and who she hangs out with, and who does her hair and who does her nails… they have their little thing going every day.”
Her beauty regimen has even made her late for their visits. Joe said they once had to wait an hour while she did her hair. “I mean really… that was a little annoying.”[[video]]The reality star made it clear he does not consider himself a criminal. “We’re not bad people, we’re not you know, these criminals or whatever, I don’t know whatever the hell they make us out to be.”
As for whether they may return to the “Real Housewives” franchise that made them famous, he says, “The numbers would have to be very big in order to go back so um, we'll see… as of right now there's nothing.”
