Keshia Knight Pulliam's First Words on Bill Cosby Sex Scandal
Actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played Rudy on “The Cosby Show,” has spoken out for the first time about the sex abuse claims against Bill Cosby.
Pulliam explained on the “Today” show, "What I can say is this: I wasn't there. No one was there except for the two people who know exactly what happened. All I can speak to is the man that I know and I love."
She added, "The fact that he's been such an example, you can't take away from the great that he has done. You know, the amount… the millions and millions of dollars that he has given back to colleges and education, and just what he did with 'The Cosby Show' and how groundbreaking that was."
Pulliam appeared on the morning show following the Sunday premiere of “Celebrity Apprentice,” where her former TV dad took center stage. Donald Trump fired Pulliam for not calling Cosby to ask him to donate to a fundraiser.
The episode was filmed prior to more than 20 women coming forward accusing Cosby, 77, of sexual assault.
Cosby's lawyer, Marty Singer, released a statement last month regarding the "alleged decades-old events" against his client, saying they are "unsubstantiated stories” and asking the media to stop the "vilification of Mr. Cosby."
Cosby settled a civil suit with an alleged victim in November 2006.
