Kevin Hart: 'I Am a Better Father Because of the Mistakes My Dad Made'
“Extra's” Charissa Thompson sat down with comedian Kevin Hart to talk about his memoir “I Can't Make This Up: Life Lessons.”
In the tell-all, Kevin reveals his dad Henry was an alcoholic absentee father who once pilfered his birthday money, and even brought home a new dog… that he had actually stolen from their neighbor.
Hart told Charissa that writing the book was cathartic, adding, “I can sit in front of you a mature, charming individual that is a grown man today because of the trials and tribulations that I went through to get here.”
When Thompson asked how his childhood made him a better father, he said, “I am a better father because of the mistakes my dad made… me and my dad are close. We have a relationship and I'm open about these things.”
