Report: Terrence Howard's 'Empire' Role Reduced Over Personal Drama
Terrence Howard's role on the FOX show "Empire" has reportedly been trimmed for the upcoming second season amid the drama in his personal life.
A source told Page Six about the actor, whose character was arrested for murder in the first season, "What they are doing is two-fold. They have him locked up so you won't be seeing him in as many scenes. But they are bringing in so many, and I mean so many, guest stars and cameos that the average viewer won't realize it because there is so much going on.”
With Terrence's character being pushed to the sidelines, co-star Taraji P. Henson's role will be taking more of the spotlight. The insider added, “She's going to start dropping off from the flashback scenes and then they're going to have her guns blazing."
Neither FOX nor Howard's rep responded to "Extra" or Page Six's request for comment. Howard was recently scheduled to do interviews with "Extra" in Chicago, but backed out at the last minute.
In case you missed it, Terrence and wife Mira Pak got a secret divorce in July while he was fighting to have his divorce settlement overturned with second wife Michelle Ghent. A judge just ruled in Terrence's favor and overturned the settlement.
