See Jake Gyllenhaal's Shocking Transformation for Role in 'Southpaw'
Jake Gyllenhaal looks like a lean mean fighting machine in the new movie “Southpaw”!
After losing 30 pounds for “Nightcrawler,” he underwent another transformation, this time packing on some serious muscle to play middleweight boxer Billy Hope.
Director Antoine Fuqua told Deadline Hollywood he had the actor sparring with real fighters.
"Jake is going to change how people see him,” he said. “I had him training twice a day in the boxing ring."

Fuqua added, "We literally turned him into a beast."
Gyllenhaal's “Southpaw” co-stars include Rachel McAdams, Naomie Harris, Forest Whitaker, 50 Cent and Rita Ora.
