Joe Giudice Will Be Deported After Prison Release — How Did He React?
On Wednesday, reality star Joe Giudice was faced with some bad news!
A judge ordered his deportation once he is released from prison. People reports that Joe will be deported to his native Italy.
According to RadarOnline.com, the judge John Ellington said, “Based upon the law, I find you deportable and ineligible for any kind of relief. Mr. Giudice, no matter how this turns out, I wish you the best. I decided this case as a matter of law.”
In response to the news, Joe said, “I don't understand how I can be deported on this case. If you will, I'll tell you my side. I shouldn't even be here right now. I have to go back and tell my kids this, and they've been waiting to hear from me.”
Judge Ellington replied, “I get no joy in telling a family this news… I'm relying on the conviction documents. This is what makes our country great. You can appeal and the court of appeals may not agree with me."
Giudice's wife Teresa was not in court when the judge issued the ruling. Nearly three years ago, Teresa served 11 months in prison for the same crimes.
A source told People magazine, “This is going to break her. She always knew that this was a possibility, but she put it out of her head. That's the only way she could go on living day to day.”
Joe, 46, is currently serving a 41-month sentence for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. He is set to be released next year.
In June, Giudice's attorney told People, “Mr. Giudice has immigration counsel who are and have been working aggressively on his behalf so that he can return home to his wife and four young daughters and we remain optimistic that that is how this will end.”
During an episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey" that aired earlier this year, Teresa revealed that she “wouldn't mind” moving to Italy. She added, “Listen, whatever God has planned for me, that's what's going to happen. I will embrace it the best I can.” Watch!
Teresa appears to be standing by her man. Last week, her lawyer told Page Six, "Teresa is not talking about getting divorced, she is not thinking about getting divorced and she's not filing for divorce. It's not happening, not just now, but never. I can't be any more clear about it.”
