Rob Lowe Shares His Biggest Takeaway After 29 Years of Sobriety
Actor Rob Lowe recently took to Twitter to celebrate his sobriety, writing, “Sober 29 years today. Thank you to all who've inspired me along this wonderful, inspiring, challenging and life changing road.”
“Extra's” Renee Bargh caught up with the star at FOX Upfronts in NYC, where he shared this about his recovery: “Great family, great friends, great people in recovery that I see on a daily basis, and wanting it.”
His biggest takeaway? “You can't get sober for your wife, husband, job, court case, accident — you can only get sober for you.”
Lowe is also working on a new “9-1-1” spinoff with Ryan Murphy called “9-1-1: Lone Star.”
“I'm playing a New York City fire captain who has a son who's troubled and decides for the good of their relationship to move to the most different environment he could imagine which is Austin, Texas.”
