Tree Bark and Bone Broth? Salma Hayek Reveals Her Unusual Beauty Secrets
“Extra” sat down with Salma Hayek and learned all about her latest beauty secrets and her new animated movie, “The Prophet."
When it comes to beauty, Hayek relies on some highly unusual methods. The 48-year-old said she uses a product from her own line to keep her face looking so young. “The main ingredient, it's the bark of a tree that's used in Mexican hospitals for burn victims so it regenerates the skin.”
The star added, “Another thing I do is that I embrace fat, the good fat. This is very important, and I make a bone broth that you can look up on the internet. It's very good for all your health and it's full of collagen, when you drink it, it's like fat… I think people are afraid of fat, and fat is your friend.”
Hayek is also embracing her body, recently daring to bare it all in Allure Magazine, saying she wasn't nervous, even in the shot where just her hands covered her breasts. “I was covering them, but you know, my hands are too small. Actually, when I was doing it, I felt like it was covering more than I was covering, and I did it with a photographer I've known for twenty years, and he's very tasteful.”
Salma also opened up about her passion project, “The Prophet,” an animated film she produced and stars in as a voice actor. She admitted that her daughter Valentina, 7, wasn't always happy having to share her mom with the movie.
"She hates the movie most of her life, because most of her life her mommy was busy doing this movie from Europe, working with the America time. Many days I couldn't take her to school because I went to sleep at five.”
Now that Valentina has seen the finished project, all of the sacrifice has paid off. “When she saw the film she said, 'Mommy I'm so proud of you.'”
