The Latest on Lamar Odom's Condition, and a Glimmer of Hope

UPDATE: Lamar Odom has woken up from his coma and is now conscious.

Lamar Odom is still in a medically induced coma, but he is showing small signs of improvement.

According to TMZ, doctors performed tests on his heart on Friday and say it is functioning "much better," a sign that his heart is healing.

For now, doctors have banned visitors from his room because they don't want him overstimulated during this critical time. His estranged wife Khloé Kardashian is reportedly the only one still at his bedside.

There are mixed reports about the basketball star's condition. RadarOnline.com claims that he has been declared brain-dead. A source told the site, "He is brain-dead. The tests showed no function."

Meanwhile, People says he remains in a coma and on a ventilator as his family prepares for the worst. An insider told the magazine, "Everyone wanted to hope for the best, but nothing has changed. Now they are preparing for the worst."

It was previously reported that Lamar's kidney's were failing and that doctors have been performing dialysis.
