Meghan Trainor Talks All Things ‘Friends,’ Plus: Her ‘Amazing’ Marriage
Only “Extra” caught up with singer Meghan Trainor on top of the Empire State Building in NYC, where she celebrated the 25th anniversary of “Friends” and her cover of the hit theme song, “I'll Be There for You.”
Meghan was more than excited, saying, “Yeah, I got to cover 'I'll Be There For You' by the Rembrandts… and I tried to do it justice, 'cause it's the best song!”
She gushed, “I was so honored. I love the show. I've watched it my entire life.”
Just like many, she has a favorite episode: The one that focused on Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer's characters. She commented, “The episode where Rachel writes out her whole confession to Ross in 18 pages front and back and at the end he was too tired to read it and at the end she's like, 'Does it?' And he goes, 'It, it does. It really and truly does…' Then they got back together — which I was like, 'Yes!' — then he really read it and was like... 'It so does not!!!”'
Who's her favorite character? She shared, “Most of the time it's Chandler, he rocks it.” Matthew Perry will be happy to hear that!
Meghan has a lot to celebrate… hit music, a "Friends" cover, and her almost one year of marriage with husband Daryl Sabara. She said, “Marriage… I recommend it to all my friends. Marriage is amazing, it's really great… It's also kind of challenging, 'cause we had a week apart and I couldn't breathe… Love him, I'm his biggest fan, and we're better together.”
