Beth Chapman Dead at 51

Reality star Beth Chapman, wife of Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman, has passed away at the age of 51.

On Wednesday, Dog tweeted the sad news, writing, “It's 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

His tweet came just one day after he shared a photo of Beth in her hospital bed. His previous tweet had a lighter tone, showing off a photo of her manicure, writing, “You all know how she is about HER NAILS !!”

Their family rep told People magazine, "Beth died at 5:32 this morning, the same time she would wake up to go hiking Koko Head. The exact same time. She was surrounded by family and Dog was there, holding her hand.”

Beth will be cremated, The Blast reports.

A source told the site that she gave instructions on her death arrangements, requesting to be cremated. It is unknown if the family will keep her ashes in an urn or scatter them at a special place.

Over the weekend, Beth was placed in a medically induced coma while she battled throat cancer.

TMZ reported that the family had been preparing for the worst, with sources saying that she was not expected to recover.

According to family spokeswoman Mona Wood-Sword, Beth was originally put into a medically induced coma so she wouldn't feel pain during her cancer treatment. Before her passing, Mona said, “Duane and the family feel she's such a fighter, she could get better. The family still has hope.”

Beth's kids Bonnie and Garry had flown to Hawaii to be by their mother's side. Bonnie posted a pic from the plane landing. Once she got to the hospital, she wrote, “There's not much of an update I can give, I can say she's getting good care. I know you guys wanted more but yknow its a coma."

After Beth's death, Bonnie posted a pic of herself holding her mom's hand, writing on Instagram, "So thankful to call you my mother. Rest In Peace, mom. I love you so much."

In response to Dog's tweet, Beth's step-daughter Lyssa tweeted, "Beth we love you."

On Saturday, Dog "humbly" requested that everyone "please pray for Beth," thanking "everyone for their prayers throughout Beth's battle with cancer,” in a statement to Hawaii News Now. Beth was first diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer in September 2017, but thought she had beat it. In November of the following year, doctors discovered the cancer had returned and had spread to her lungs.

In January, the couple announced their new reality series "Dog's Most Wanted," but by April, she was rushed to a hospital with respiratory issues, and wound up having "almost four liters of fluid from her lungs."

Dog and Beth had been married since 2006. She is survived by Dog and their kids, Cecily, Bonnie, Garry, and Dominic.
