Has Cameron Diaz Retired from Acting?
Actress Cameron Diaz hasn't been seen in a movie since 2014, so is she completely over Hollywood?
Her “The Sweetest Thing” co-star Selma Blair recently revealed to Metro News, “I had lunch with Cameron the other day, we were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron's retired from acting. She's like, 'I'm done.'”
Blair added, “I mean, she doesn't need to make any more films, she has a pretty great life, I don't know what it would take to bring her back. She's happy.”
On Monday, Selma cleared the air on her comments, tweeting, "Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview. CAMERON DIAZ is NOT retiring from ANYTHING. And for more breaking news: I am NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz's spokesperson.”
Last year, Cameron opened up on her decision to step away from Hollywood, sharing at a Goop event, “I just went, 'I can't really say who I am to myself.' Which is a hard thing to face up to. I felt the need to make myself whole.”
Over the past few years, the 45-year-old has been more focused on her relationship with husband Benji Madden, who she married in 2015. She said at the event, “And I have a husband who is just my partner in life and in everything. Talk about two very different people! We are so different from one another, but we share the same values — we're totally two peas in a pod. We are both just weird enough for each other.”
