Teresa Giudice Is ‘Very Upset’ by Court Ruling to Deport Joe — What’s Her Plan of Action?
“Extra's” AJ Calloway spoke with “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice, who was candid about the immigration court's ruling last month to deport her husband Joe to his native Italy after his prison sentence.
She commented, “We're appealing that — very upset about it. My daughters, they're devastated. They are like, 'Why isn't Daddy coming come?' He did his time, they want him home.”
Teresa noted that it is harder on her daughters, Gia, 17, Gabriella, 14, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 9, than on herself, saying, “It's heart wrenching… Adults, we can handle anything. It's sad for the children because they don't understand.”
“I have to be strong for them. I'm their Mommy — they look up to me. If Mommy breaks down, they are going to break down, so Mommy has to be the rock of the family, which I am,” she emphasized.Teresa was “shocked” when she heard the news from Joe himself, elaborating, “I didn't expect that at all… he has been here since he was 1 years old and it's a white-collar crime and he's done his time; I don't understand it all. I feel like it's unfair.”
Praising Joe for “being strong,” she added, “We have no choice.”
Teresa Giudice's First Words After Joe’s Deportation News
View StoryTeresa is not making plans for the future. She explained, “I'm just taking it day by day. I don't live in the future. If you asked me when I started the show, I used get that question all the time, 'Where do you see yourself five years for now?' Successful. Not going to prison."
Their eldest daughter, Gia, is applying to colleges now and already knows what she wants to do for a living. Teresa revealed, “She's going for law because of everything that Joe and I have been through.”
The family's struggles with the law are set to play out on “RHONJ," and Teresa says she has been comforted by her castmates, who “have all been great.”
There is some drama with one of the new Housewives, though. Teresa teased, “One of them, I do get into with the next season.”
What also made it very hard this season for Teresa was getting into a fitness competition. She said, “You have to be very disciplined, on track, get all your cardio in, all your weightlifting in, eat right, no alcohol, plenty of sleep, take your supplements, no messing around… It was something I always wanted to do.”
Joe has not seen the “full effect” of her intense training for the competition. She dished, “He really didn't see me in the swimsuit, 'cause that's when you get the full effect. I always wanted to wear a thong, so finally got to wear one, did my thing onstage, and you'll see what happens, what place I placed.”
The new season of “RHONJ” premieres tomorrow night on Bravo.
