Mac Miller’s Death Certificate Released
Rapper Mac Miller was found dead at his home in L.A. last week, and now the L.A. County Coroner's Office has released his death certificate.
TMZ obtained a copy of the document, which says his cause of death is listed as “deferred.”
Authorities likely won't know his cause of death until toxicology results come back in four to six weeks.
In the meantime, a deferred death certificate will allow Miller's family to move forward with burial or cremation. TMZ reports that Miller's body has been released to his family.
The 26-year-old, who had dated Ariana Grande, passed away from an apparent overdose. Law enforcement sources say he was discovered dead at his home in L.A.'s San Fernando Valley.
A friend reportedly found Miller around noon, and called 911. Dispatch audio obtained by TMZ reveals he may have been in cardiac arrest.
Sources tell TMZ that law enforcement believes evidence related to the overdose may have been removed before police arrived.
