Taraji P. Henson Talks Terrence Howard: 'Why Would I Fight with Someone I Fought For?'
Actress Taraji P. Henson is dishing on “Empire” in her new cover story for Bella New York Magazine's holiday issue.
The star blasted rumors that say she's feuding with co-star Terrence Howard. "Where did that rumor come from that Terrence and I are feuding? I fought to have him on the show. We've known each other for 10 years and worked together before. Why would I fight with someone I fought for?"
Howard isn't the only one she fought for, she explained, “The cast was important.”
She continued, “I fought for Terrence and we were an integral part in hiring the family. We both loved Jussie (Jamal) right away and knew he was Jamal. We bonded; it was just natural with that kid. Lee and I have sons Yazz's (Hakeem) age and we saw in him that confident, but not too confident, chest puffed out, with that swag that the character represents.”
The cast is close, and that includes Taraji's new love interest on the show played by Adam Rodriguez. This week, he opened up on the "Steve Harvey Show" about how awkward it was to share love scenes with a friend. In the Oct. 21st episode he tells Harvey, “It is always a little bit awkward to be doing a love scene with somebody you hold so dear. So I think we've just been having fun playing games with each other… trying to see who can make their breath the most difficult to deal with. Love scenes are really awkward. You're in a room with 30 people, so there's nothing intimate about it. So you've got to try and have fun and make it as comfortable for both of you as possible."
