Adam Levine’s Emotional Tribute to Christina Grimmie on ‘The Voice’
It was a powerful night on “The Voice,” as Adam Levine led his team in an emotional tribute to hi Season 6 team member Christina Grimmie, who was tragically murdered last year.
Before singing “Hey Jude” in her honor (watch the performance here), Adam addressed Christina's family in the audience, saying, "God, I loved her so much... I miss her. It is unfair that she is not here. We are going to sing her a little song tonight and I am going to be singing every word to her in her honor."
During the show, Carson Daly also announced the launch of the Christina Grimmie Foundation, which will help victims of gun violence, and families, like her own, that have been affected by breast cancer.
The family will be releasing a full album of Christina's music called “All Is Vanity” on June 2 with all proceeds going to the foundation. In the meantime, fans can download her EP “Side B,” which features three previously unreleased songs and a reworked version of “I Won't Give Up.”
Grimmie was killed by a shooter at a meet-and-greet outside her show in Orlando in June 2016.
