Mark-Paul Gosselaar & Kylie Bunbury Say 'Pitch' Could Lead to First Female MLB Player
“Extra's” Renee Bargh caught up with Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Kylie Bunbury at the Television Critics Association summer press tour to talk about their new FOX show “Pitch.” Gosselaar stars as a San Diego Padres catcher, while Bunbury plays the team's pitcher.
The stars both agreed with their producers' recent comments that, yes, this show could pave the way for a female Major League Baseball player. Bunbury said, “I really think it's only a matter of time before we see a woman on the mound or in the MLB in general."
Gosselaar also shared, “I'm a bigger baseball fan, way more now that we have had to dive into the world of baseball.”
With both actors playing athletes, Bargh had to ask just what competition the two were tuned into most during the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
“Gymnastics,” shared both actors. In response to their feelings on the newly crowned female gymnastic champion Simone Biles, the two chimed in positively about her performance.
“She's nuts,” shared Gosselaar.
“She's perfection,” exclaimed Bunbury.
“Pitch” premieres Sept. 22 on FOX.
