Liam Hemsworth Officially Breaks His Silence on Miley Cyrus Split
On Tuesday, Liam Hemsworth took to Instagram to address his separation from Miley Cyrus.
Along with a pic of a sunset, Hemsworth wrote, “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.”
He went on, “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”

His Instagram post comes just a day after Miley discussed how “change is inevitable.” She tweeted, “Don't fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa , change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.”

Miley's sister Brandi seems to have weighed in on the split, too. She wrote on Instagram, “I've learned that life sometimes takes us through seasons when we cannot understand why things have to hurt so much, or be so hard, but all we can do is trust that there is purpose in everything, even the darkness. In time everything will make sense, and all of that purpose will be revealed when the time is right, and we will be stronger and better for it.”
A source recently told People magazine, “This split isn't shocking to people who are actually with them every day.”
The insider claimed, “After they reunited, everyone thought they were this 'perfect' couple, but they still had a lot of issues. They're not on the same page when it comes to a lot of fundamental things that make a relationship work. It's not surprising at all.”
TMZ recently reported that Miley tried to persuade Liam to go to therapy to work out their issues, but "he didn't come close to meeting her half way."
The couple, steadily together since 2015, had wed at an intimate ceremony held at their Franklin, Tennessee, home in December 2018.
Earlier this year, Liam explained how they kept the nuptials quiet, telling "Extra's" Renee Bargh, "It wasn't hard — we have a small group of friends. It was mainly immediate family, a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. I am very happy to be where I am."
Saying married life was "the same but different," he noted, "We've been together for the better part of 10 years."
Last month, Miley opened up about their marriage, telling Harper's Bazaar, “I think it's very confusing to people that I'm married. But my relationship is unique. And I don't know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it's so complex, and modern, and new that I don't think we're in a place where people would get it."
In spite of her committed relationship with Hemsworth, Cyrus admitted, "I'm still very sexually attracted to women."
Miley has since moved on with Brody Jenner's ex, Kaitlynn Carter. They were spotted packing on the PDA as they soaked up the sun in their bikinis at the Il Sereno hotel last week.

As for Miley's relationship with Kaitlynn, TMZ notes that they didn't start seeing each other until their splits from their spouses.
