How a Blowup May Have Caused Aaron Rodgers & Brother Jordan’s Family Feud
Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not spoken to his family in two years, but what really caused the rift?
The family feud made headlines over the summer, and there is renewed interest in the topic after the duo's dad Ed told The New York Times that “it's complicated.”
On the 12th season of “The Bachelorette,” Aaron's younger brother Jordan admitted, "No matter what I did, it was never good enough for a coach or for a teammate, because I was being compared to someone who did it the best.”
A source close to Aaron recently told People magazine, “[They] have always been competitive, and they're always trying to one-up each other. It's been that way since they were kids. They got older, and the stakes got higher.”
The intense sibling rivalry eventually led to a “blowup,” with the source revealing, “It wasn't an argument about anything all that interesting. Some things were said on both sides that were regrettable.”
After the two decided to stop talking to each other, their parents tried to intervene. The insider explained, "Their parents got involved in the middle of it. Everyone needed a cooling-off period. It could have ended there, but some people chose to go public with it, rather than keeping it a private family matter. And here we are.”
Aaron is reportedly trying to tune out the drama while competing for a place in the Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers. His pal shared, "He's all about practice. He has a real shot of taking it all, and that's where he's focusing his energy.”
