'American Idol' Reveals Second Celeb Judge: Luke Bryan
With just a week until "American Idol" auditions are set to begin, the show has finally confirmed a second judge: Country superstar Luke Bryan will join pop star Katy Perry at the judges' table.
Bryan has had three consecutive #1 albums on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, and on October 18 will be honored by CMT as one of its Artists of the Year.
Along with Perry and Bryan, the ABC revival of the FOX hit boasts Ryan Seacrest, the original show's host.
Variety reports the identity of the third judge is anyone's guess, since Lionel Richie, Charlie Puth and Keith Urban — all rumored to be in talks with the show at one point or another — are now "unlikely" to score the gig.
"American Idol" premieres in early March 2018, hot on the heels of the Oscars.
