Why David Cassidy Doesn’t Talk to His Daughter

On the heels of his announcement that he is battling dementia, singer David Cassidy revealed details about his interactions with his son Beau and daughter Katie.
The “Partridge Family” star, 66, revealed that while he has a relationship with his son, it's a different story when it comes to his daughter. “I wasn't her father,” he told People magazine. “I was her biological father but I didn't raise her. She has a completely different life.”
Katie, an actress who has appeared on “Gossip Girl” and “Arrow," is the daughter he shares with former model Sherry Williams. While they are not in contact, Cassidy is an admiring father from afar. “I'm proud of her,” he confessed. “She's very talented. It's hard for me to even accept how old she is now, like 30.”
Cassidy has decided to shift his focus from his music and touring to his health and well-being. He told People, “I want to focus on what I am, who I am and how I've been without any distractions. I want to love. I want to enjoy life.”
