Actor Tim Curry Makes Rare Public Appearance Since Suffering Stroke
Film and Broadway star Tim Curry made a rare public appearance at last night's Tony Awards viewing party in Los Angeles since he suffered a stroke in 2012.
The “Rocky Horror Picture Show” star was honored with The Actors Fund Lifetime Achievement Award, and told Los Angeles magazine he was “doing well.”
Curry, 69, now in a wheelchair, was in good spirits, telling the magazine, “I've done a few benefits for the Actors Fund, and I think it's a marvelous organization. I hope not to have to use it”
The Actors Fund is a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment. The Fund provides programs and services for those who are in need, crisis or transition.
The “Clue” actor is probably best known for his work on the big screen, but was also Tony-nominated for several roles on the stage, including “Amadeus,” “My Favorite Year” and “Monty Python's Spamalot.”
