Report: Legendary Singer Joni Mitchell Rushed to Hospital After 911 Call
Folk, rock and jazz musician Joni Mitchell was reportedly rushed to the hospital on March 31.
Paramedics arrived at the 71-year-old's Bel Air residence after receiving a 911 call about an unconscious woman, who was later alert on the way to the hospital, TMZ reports.
The eight-time Grammy winner, also a painter, is best known for being part of the Woodstock generation, her moody and lyrical compositions, and her ability to cross genres. Her hit songs include "Help Me," "Big Yellow Taxi" and "Clouds." She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
Mitchell recently disclosed that she suffers from Morgellons disease, and has worked to advocate for the disputed disorder, which many claim has psychiatric causes, although sufferers insist the origin is parasitic.
It's unclear what caused Mitchell to become unconscious, according to TMZ. She is in the ICU at a local hospital and is said to be in good spirits.
