Chris Cuomo’s Reaction to His Wife Cristina’s Positive Test for Coronavirus: ‘It Breaks My Heart’
Sick with COVID-19, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is still quarantining in his basement — and now his wife Cristina has tested positive for the virus.
Cuomo revealed on his show “Cuomo Prime Time” on Wednesday night, “Cristina now has COVID. She is now positive. And it just breaks my heart. It's the one thing I was hoping wouldn't happen. And now it has.”

Later in the night, Chris gave an update on their children, tweeting, “Kids are still healthy, but this shook us at our literal core. All are stepping up. Can't wait to shake this fever so I can help her as she helped me. Sucks."
Just days before her diagnosis, “Extra's” Billy Bush spoke with Cristina, who admitted she was nervous for herself. She said, “It's sort of like day to day you wake up and pray you don't have it that day.”
As for how she was protecting herself in the home, Cristina shared, “I stand at the top of the stairs and there's a landing there. I put a food tray down… I have my gloves and mask… He comes to the stairs and we hang out.”
Cristina, who is the editor in chief of The Purist, revealed she was helping nurse Chris back to health using techniques she learned from Dr. Linda Lancaster, an energy medicine physician. “Food is medicine, too, so our whole effort was to build back his immune system… We integrated things his doctors suggested such as Tylenol and Allegra-D, but most importantly it was the good food and herbs, the oxygenated herbs… and obviously the vitamins were critical for this and necessary right now.”
Cristina also gave an update on Chris, saying, “We finished week two… and he's on day 18. Many have said that it's about a 21-day aggressive-symptom virus.”
Earlier this week, Cuomo revealed that he experienced a setback in his fight against the virus after he stopped taking Tylenol. When Dr. Sanjay Gupta asked if he was able to go 72 hours without a fever, Chris answered, “I got close. I got to 60 (hours). And then I have to be honest, I got a little cocky. I started thinking about: 'Oh great, I can't wait. I want to get retested and then I'm gonna do this, and then I'm gonna do that.'”

“It's not the way COVID works. The more I learn anecdotally and from the clinicians who are treating it, it comes in waves,” Cuomo emphasized.
Two weeks ago, Chris expressed concerns that he would spread the virus to his family. He tweeted, “I just hope I didn't give it to the kids and Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness!"
