Kelly Clarkson Wanted Kesha to Win! Why She Was Rooting for the Competition
Singer Kelly Clarkson was looking forward to spending time with her husband at the 60th annual Grammy Awards.
“Extra's” AJ Calloway spoke with Clarkson, who joked, “This is my easiest Grammys.” She explained on the red carpet, “I am not performing, just presenting, so it's basically date night without the kids.”
Kelly is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Love So Soft,” but she is rooting for her competition, Kesha, who is up for “Praying.” She revealed, “It's such a personal song and as a songwriter myself and writing those songs that really bare all, and you really need to be honest with yourself and everyone, you know, I am against her but I wouldn't be sad if she won.”
“She deserves this one,” Kelly emphasized.
The award eventually went to Ed Sheeran for his single "Shape of You."
